To improve corrosion resistance and weldability, appropriate amounts of stabilizing elements such as Ti, Nb, Mo are added to stainless steel flanges.
The chromium element in stainless steel flanges has the function of increasing the electrode potential of iron-based solid solutions and passivating iron, which is beneficial for promoting the anti-corrosion effect of stainless steel. In addition, the carbon element in stainless steel flanges has duality, which is a contradictory element in terms of strength and corrosion resistance. But it cannot be lacking in stainless steel flanges, as it is the main element that constitutes stainless steel products.
