The material of stainless steel flange acid resistant pump refers to steel that is resistant to weak corrosive media such as steam and water, as well as chemical corrosive media such as acid, alkali, salt, etc., also known as stainless acid resistant steel. In practical application, steel that is resistant to weak corrosive media is often referred to as stainless steel flanges, while steel that is resistant to chemical media corrosion is referred to as acid resistant steel. Due to the difference in chemical composition between the two, the former may not be resistant to chemical corrosion, while the latter generally has non rusting properties. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel depends on the alloy elements contained in the steel.
The stainless steel material for acid resistant pumps with stainless steel flanges generally has a chromium content of 10.5%, making it less prone to rusting. The higher the content of chromium and nickel, the better the corrosion resistance. For example, the nickel content required for 304 material is 8-10%, and the chromium content reaches 18-20%. Such stainless steel will not rust under normal circumstances.
The training process of manufacturing enterprises can also affect the corrosion resistance of stainless steel acid resistant pumps. A large stainless steel factory with good training techniques, advanced equipment, and advanced processes can ensure the control of alloy elements, removal of impurities, and control of steel billet cooling temperature. Therefore, the product quality is stable and reliable, with good internal quality and not easy to rust. On the contrary, some small steel mills have outdated equipment and processes. During the training process, impurities cannot be removed, and the products produced are inevitably prone to rusting.
The external environment, with a monotonous climate and good ventilation, is less prone to rusting. Areas with high air humidity, continuous rainy weather, or high acidity or alkalinity in the air are prone to rusting. 304 stainless steel flange, even if the surrounding environment is too poor, it will rust.
How to deal with the rust spots on the stainless steel flange acid resistant pump? The chemical method is to use pickling paste or spray to assist the rusted parts to passivate from the beginning to form a chromium oxide film to restore the corrosion resistance ability from the beginning. After pickling, in order to remove all pollutants and acid residues, it is very important to use clean water for proper flushing. After all processing, use polishing equipment to polish from the beginning and close with polishing wax. For those with slight rust spots, a 1:1 mixture of gasoline and engine oil can be used to wipe off the rust spots with a clean cloth.
